Administrative review
If the Home Office got your case wrong because of a casework error, and there is no right of appeal, administrative review is how you make them look again. It is fast, written and the cheapest remedy when it fits. The deadline is short, usually 14 days from the decision in the UK, so start now.
Is this you?
People refused on points-based and other routes without a right of appeal, including work, study and EU Settlement Scheme decisions, where the refusal contains an error.
What we do for you
- Read the refusal the day it arrives
- Confirm administrative review is the right remedy, rather than a fresh application or judicial review
- Draft focused grounds that identify each error
- Submit in time and follow it to the outcome
What we check before anything is submitted
- The refusal reasons against the rules and the evidence you sent
- Whether the error is a casework error that review can fix
- The deadline and whether you are in the UK, overseas or detained
The fee, the timescale and who does the work
£600 to £900 plus VAT.
Your exact fixed fee is confirmed on the free call and agreed in writing before any chargeable work starts. Home Office fees and the health surcharge are paid separately; see the Fees page for the full list.
Our fee covers taking your instructions, assessing eligibility, telling you what evidence is needed and reviewing it, preparing and drafting the application and any representations, submitting it, dealing with Home Office requests for information, and advising you on the decision.
Typical timescale. The Home Office aims to decide within 28 days.
Who handles it. A named, Law Society accredited caseworker runs your matter from the first call to the decision, supervised by a solicitor who signs off the application.
Questions we hear every week
Can I add new evidence?
Usually not; review looks at the decision on what was sent, which is why a fresh application is sometimes better.
Can I stay in the UK while it is decided?
If you applied in time, usually yes.
What if it fails?
We advise on judicial review or a new application.
